Aaliyah Rose, 14, of Provo, is moving on to the live playoffs on NBC’s “The Voice” after losing her knockout round on Gwen Stefani’s team and getting stolen by Blake Shelton during the Tuesday, April 4, episode.
During this round, the singers pick a song to sing against another member of their coach’s team. Aaliyah sang against Brennley Brown, 15, a country singer Stefani had stolen from Shelton’s team.
Stefani was the only coach to turn a chair for Aaliyah during the blind auditions.
Aaliyah chose “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” by Meghan Trainor and John Legend. She told Stefani on the show how much she admires Trainor.
“She’s such an inspiration because she loves herself and she doesn’t care what anybody else thinks,” Aaliyah said.
